My grandfather was part of the Conservation Corp team that was sent to Flagstaff to prepare it. My father has hunted the area around there and close to the Canada border nearby. Unfortunately, it impossible to say for sure, but Flagstaff would have most likely been close to a ghost town had it not been condemed to the bottom of a lake. Too many of those great little towns are disappearing... without the help. I'm told that if you dive in Flagstaff it's possible to see the church and some of the buildings below the water.
